Casino
Developer: Holland Casino
Architect: Neutelings Riedijk Architects
Status: Definitive Design
Number of floors: 11 Building
height: 60 m
Gross floor space: 23,200 m2
The new casino will replace the provisional building at the Overste den Oudenlaan. The appearance of both the interior and exterior of the new Holland Casino will be a combination of the 19th-century grandeur of the European casinos (like for instance that of Monaco) and the North American 20th-century examples of Las Vegas.
The building will have a total of 11 floors with a total gross floor space of 23,200 m2. Of this floor space, 17,000 m2 will be taken up by the casino and 6,200 m2 by offices of the casino. The building will have a height of approximately 60 metres and a width of 80 metres. The design is asymmetrical and divided into four surfaces with towers on top. The facades will be slightly tilted backward and will be able to change in terms of colour or appearance, providing exactly the expression fitting a specific event. The main entrance of the casino can be seen from the Jaarbeurs Square. The ground floor of the building will be open and transparent, providing public services that fit the pedestrian areas.
