Corio
Corio is the owner and operator of a large number of shops and shopping centres in the Netherlands and Europe. At this moment Corio is active in the following core markets: Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain and Turkey. Corio is constantly looking for new investment opportunities. This may vary from finding a new core market or the purchase of a project in a new region, to the expansion of an existing shopping centre.
Corio is actively involved in the daily management of the shopping centres. The wishes of tenants, shopkeepers and consumers are the core focus for this. Good service provision enables tenants to concentrate on their businesses and at the same time enables consumers to feel good. Supported by marketing activities, Corio strives to involve consumers from the catchment area in the shopping centre as much as possible. This active approach enables Corio to distinguish itself as an owner and manager in the retail property market. The success of Corio’s approach is underscored by the various awards that Corio has received in the past years.
Social responsibility is an aspect that Corio feels very strongly about. As the owner and operator of a large number of shopping centres, Corio is closely involved in the local, day-to-day lives in the cities where it operates. Shopping centres form part of the public and social life. An example of a socially responsible initiative is the program for waste reduction that is already being used in Hoog Catharijne. As a result, garbage trucks have to come less often and people living in the neighbourhood experience less inconvenience. Corio’s activities are also closely related to the initiatives of local authorities, which increasingly often pay attention to greener and more sustainable shopping areas.
Corio is also the owner of the present Hoog Catharijne and in that capacity Corio is a partner in the Station Area project. In this project Corio is responsible for the renovation and new development of Hoog Catharijne, as well as for the construction of the new shops and apartments building De Vredenburg.
